Reports earlier in the summer claimed that the Blues had shown interest in the four-times Premier League winner as Frank Lampard looked to revamp his side’s engine room.

However, Arsenal acted swiftly to make their move for Zivchenko and the deal has accelerated quickly since they moved ahead of Everton as the bookmakers’ favourites to land the player.

Napoli ‘interested’ in signing Everton target

Napoli are ‘interested’ in signing Everton target Armando Broja, if reports in Italy are anything to go by.

An article from Il Mattino newspaper (via Football Italia) claims the Serie A club have ‘spoken’ to the London club about a move during talks over the deal for Kalidou Koulibaly.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is reportedly a ‘huge fan’ of the forward and is looking to explore a loan with an option to buy.

However. the Chelsea forward is reportedly still Everton’s number one attacking target to replace Richarlison this summer.

A report on Friday from The Athletic says Thomas Tuchel will first take a look at Broja during pre-season before any decisions are made on his future.

The England international has been linked with a move to Goodison Park this summer following the expiration of his contract with Manchester United.

Joe Thomas brings you the latest from Everton’s pre-season tour of the USA.

Everton once again split their training sessions on Thursday in a bid to protect the players from the worst of the heat, he writes.

The temperature in Washington DC is hitting the high 20s by mid-morning and just standing still in the sunshine can be exhausting. Not that the players are getting any respite, however.

The squad is being worked hard this week as Frank Lampard and his coaching staff look to build strength and fitness for the season ahead.

Everton remain ‘in talks’ over Morgan GIbbs-White

Everton remain ‘in talks’ with Wolves over a move for Morgan Gibbs-White, according to Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth.

The Blues have been heavily linked with the 22-year-old this summer as he enters the final two years of his contract at Molineux. According to Sheth’s report, his contract situation could play a key role in negotiations.

“Everton remain in talks with Wolves over the signing of their midfielder, Morgan Gibbs-White,” the journalist said on Thursday. “There’s still a gap though in valuation. Wolves are yet to decide as well whether they do actually want to sell Morgan Gibbs-White, personal terms would not be a problem, we’re told if a deal can be agreed.

“Wolves are looking for in excess of £25million. He’s entered the final two years of his contract though has Morgan Gibbs-White so if he doesn’t sign a new contract with Wolves, you would think, that this would be the optimal window to get the maximum amount of cash.”

A report from The Athletic this week also revealed, despite rumours suggesting Everton have already bid for the player, no formal offer has been made but one is ‘expected’ in the coming weeks.

Farhad Moshiri confirms Everton are ‘not for sale’ in statement to fans

Everton Football Club is not for sale. That is the message of majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri, who has tonight issued an open letter to Blues supporters.

Moshiri has said work is ongoing to complete the financing of the Bramley Moore stadium development, adding: “It will always be pragmatic to explore all potential investment opportunities.” This does extend, he has accepted publicly for the first time, to a potential search for minority investment.

But in his second major message to supporters this summer, he concluded: “I want to reassure all of you that Everton Football Club is not for sale.”
